UNIQUE SECURITY-NETWORK IN BONN AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the German Cyber and Information Domain Service (CIR) of the Bundeswehr, Telekom Security, the University of Bonn, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, or the Fraunhofer Institute FKIE – all have their headquarters in Bonn. They collaborate intensively with the City of Bonn, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bonn/Rhein-Sieg, the NRW police, the large local companies Deutsche Post, Postbank, and Deutsche Telekom, but also with many medium-sized companies in the region. The foundation of the new Cyber Security Cluster Bonn will intensify these cooperations in the future.

JOINT DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR REAL-WORLD SOLUTIONS

There is a fruitful exchange of ideas, activities, and human resources between the institutions in the Cluster. Future projects initiated by the Cluster will have this network grow even closer together. The know-how situated in Bonn and the increasing knowledge transfer due to Cluster activities lead to positive effects for all institutions located in the region. The unparalleled repertoire of experts in the closely integrated Rhineland metropolitan region facilitates the interdisciplinary pooling of competencies in the Cluster and the development of practical and innovative solutions.

QUALITY OF WORK AND LIFE FOR CYBER SECURITY PROFESSIONALS

Experts are attracted to areas where they can work and live comfortably. In Bonn and the its surrounding municipalities and countryside the working and living conditions and the quality of life are outstanding. Security, cultural and leisure activities, good schools for children, and availability of housing at affordable prices: all these qualities can be found in our region.
